What are we learning?
Students are learning how to take portrait photos to gain experience in expressing ones mood through photos. Learning the basics of portrait photography will help students who may want to take portraiture of one of the following: Engagement, Wedding, Senior Photos, Profiles, Headshots, Party Portraits, Family etc.
Why are we learning this?
Students will be learning about portrait photography and how to take photos with a variety of compositions and settings to express ones mood.
What is Portrait Photography?
The basic definition of portrait photography is photography of a person or group to capture the personality of the subjects using lighting, backgrounds and posing.
You want to capture the personality of your subject in a photograph. The problem is that everyone has a bit of a different personality. If you truly want to capture the personality of your subjects, then you need to vary your approach with each portrait session.
